The Users tab in your WordPress administration panel lets you add and manage user accounts on your website. The Users panel allows you to restrict access and define permissions to various users by assigning them Roles. WordPress has six predefined roles for limiting users’ access to view, write, edit, upload, publish and manage your content.

To create user accounts in WordPress, follow these steps:
- Click the Add New option under the Users tab in the WordPress administration panel.
- Fill in the required fields on the form and create a password. A password strength indicator is available for added security.
- Check the Send Password dialog box to email the password to your new user if you’d like.
- Then assign them their role.
- Click Add New User to complete the process, and give the user access to your site.
The name and website fields provide even more information for managing your users.
To create user accounts in WordPress, fill in the required fields, create a password, and click “Add New User.”
To edit an existing user, click All Users and hover over the user account you want to edit. A new menu will appear on hover with the option to edit that user’s account. The Edit User screen has a few additional user options that are not available on the Add User form. From here you can change the color scheme of your WordPress dashboard for that user (the one used in these screenshots is “Coffee”).
On this panel you can also set a Nickname which will override any publicly displayed name of that user (for instance, their blog post byline), and also write their Bio. Additional plugins may expand the form, but these are the default options. A good idea to suggest to your users is to have them input their Google+ profile link, which will establish Google Authorship for their posts.
